Usually, it has been seen that a sequel fails to live up to the success of its predecessor; however, the case of ‘Pushpa 2’ is different. Be it in terms of story, direction, or box office number, ‘Pushpa 2’ outperformed its predecessor, which please note was a record-breaking blockbuster itself. The movie has completed more than a month in the theatres, yet is trying to maintain its grip. However, it seems the movie gradually losing its grip. It recorded its lowest on Monday, day 40 with Rs. 1 crore in India across Telegu, Tamil, and Hindi languages, and the early estimates of Sacnilk say that the movie has managed to earn only a crore again on Wednesday (i.e day 42).
The movie is trying to chase the Rs 1300 crore mark by the end of the 6th week. So far, the movie has been able to mint Rs 1224 crore. On Tuesday the movie made Rs.1.5 crore and on Wednesday it saw a dip. Though the movie still seems to have the audience under its spell, it appears the reign is finally going into the hands of Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer.’ After an impressive opening, the movie did see a fall in numbers, but with around Rs. 6 crore in business on Tuesday, it took the lead at the box office.
It is worth noting that ‘Pushpa 2’ was released on December 5, 2024, and the entire month despite the release of ‘Baby John’ and ‘Mufasa: The Lion King,’ the movie maintained its grip at the box office both nationally and internationally. After a month of its successful run, finally, the film appears to be ready to retire.

Meanwhile, if we talk about the review of the movie, the action drama received a lot of praise. ETimes gave the movie 3.5 stars and our review reads – “Director Sukumar’s brilliance shines through in Pushpa 2: The Rule. He masterfully balances a mass entertainer with a film rich in social commentary, weaving layers of emotion, action, and intrigue into a compelling cinematic experience. Despite the extensive runtime of 3 hours and 20 minutes, the film keeps its audience riveted with a mix of high-octane sequences, character-driven moments, and a poignant emotional arc.”
