Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on January 16, 2025, sustaining multiple stab wounds during a robbery attempt that required surgery. The shocking incident has raised serious concerns about safety in the upscale neighborhood. Zeeshan Siddique, son of the late politician Baba Siddique, voiced his apprehensions about Bandra’s declining safety.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Zeeshan said, “There is a huge difference between the Bandra I was born in and Bandra today. It is not safe anymore.” His remarks also referenced his father’s tragic murder in 2024, allegedly carried out by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and criticized the lack of progress in the investigation.
In October, Zeeshan had posted on Twitter, demanding justice for his father. He wrote, “My father lost his life protecting and saving the lives and homes of poor innocent people. Today, my family is broken, but his death must not be politicized and definitely not go in vain. I NEED JUSTICE; MY FAMILY NEEDS JUSTICE!”
In connection to the attack on Saif Ali Khan, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) detained a suspect, Aakash Kailash Kannojia (31), at Durg railway station in Chhattisgarh on Saturday afternoon. Kannojia, identified as the intruder caught on CCTV footage at Saif’s Bandra residence, was traveling by the Jnaneshwari Express. The Mumbai Police had alerted the RPF about his movements, sharing his photo and mobile phone location.
Two teams were prepared at the Durg station, where the suspect was located in a general compartment. Mumbai Police confirmed his identity and are expected to take him into custody in Raipur.
Saif Ali Khan, 54, is currently recovering from his injuries, according to doctors treating him.
