Superstar Allu Arjun’s blockbuster, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, completed 50 days since its release on 5 December. Directed by Sukumar, the film is nearing the end of its box office run, but not without leaving its mark in Indian cinema history.
Pushpa 2: The Rule Movie Review
On its 51st day, Pushpa 2 earned an estimated Rs 0.16 crore India net across all languages, marking its first significant dip in collections on the eighth Friday, with revenues dropping below Rs 20 lakh. Despite the slow start to its eighth week, fans and analysts are eager to see whether the film can sustain another week at the box office amidst stiff competition from newer films.
This week, Pushpa 2 faces new challengers, including Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force, Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency, Ram Charan’s Game Changer, and Daku Maharaaj. Even the re-release of the Japanese animated classic Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama adds to the box office competition.
While the film may be running out of steam in its eighth week, Pushpa 2 emerged as an all-time blockbuster, grossing a whopping Rs 1,736 crore worldwide. This includes Rs 1,466 crore from India and Rs 270 crore from overseas markets.
The film will now conclude its journey as the third highest-grossing Indian film of all time, trailing only Baahubali 2 which earned an estimated Rs 1,790 crore and Dangal which earned an estimated Rs 2,070 crore.
In addition to its overall success, the Hindi-dubbed version of Pushpa 2 has shattered multiple records, including setting a new benchmark by raking in over Rs 800 crore net in the Hindi market alone.
Starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, the film is expected to wrap up its theatrical run soon before debuting on OTT.
