Directed by Ayan Mukerji, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was re-released on January 3, 2025, in Indian theaters. It earned over Rs 1.90 crore on its opening day, marking the second-best start for a re-release film. Due to strong audience demand, its screenings were increased over the weekend. The movie earned Rs 6 crore in its opening weekend and Rs 13 crore in its first week.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani continued its strong performance, earning a total of Rs 21 crore net (Rs 25 crore gross) during its re-release. It proved to be a significant success for Dharma Productions, despite minimal promotions on social media. The film’s box office success can be credited to its nostalgic appeal and dedicated fan following.Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani became the third highest-grossing re-release in India since 2000, following Tumbbad and Ghilli, which hold the top two spots.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani joined Tumbbad and Ghilli among the highest-grossing re-releases. Tumbbad, led by Sohum Shah, holds the top spot, earning a remarkable Rs 38 crore gross (Rs 32 crore net) during its second run, defying expectations and maintaining a successful theatrical journey.
While Tumbbad took the top spot, Ghilli, starring Thalapathy Vijay, secured the second position. The popular action drama was re-released in 2023 and earned a strong Rs 26.50 crore at the Indian box office.
