Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, who recently made their Bollywood debuts, shared their most awkward celebrity encounters. While Junaid made his acting debut in Maharaj, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat and Shalini Pandey, Khushi entered the industry with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, when asked if they had ever faced awkward moments around a celebrity, Junaid shared a childhood memory involving Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. “I believe I’ve heard this story before. Papa keeps saying it,” he began, referring to his father, Aamir Khan.
He recalled, “We were at a screening in Film City, and Bachchan Sahab was shooting there. Papa is a huge fan, and now, I am too. But at that time, I was too young to know who he was. So, Papa got very excited and took me to meet him. He asked me, ‘Do you know who this is?’ But I was just four years old, so I said, ‘No.’”
Junaid further revealed that he only realized the significance of that moment a few years later when he became a fan of Amitabh Bachchan while watching Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). “That was probably the first time I really became aware of him. Papa keeps reminding me of this story,” he added.
On the other hand, Khushi Kapoor admitted that she was a mischievous child and likely had many awkward moments. “I must have had many—I was a very loud, trouble-making kid by the looks of it. And I think I must have been traumatized into turning into this person now,” she laughed.
She continued, “I was constantly screaming, shouting, and crying when I was younger. So, I think I must have had some awkward moments, but I’m not able to recall them now.”
Both actors are gearing up for their upcoming film Loveyapa, which marks their theatrical debut. The film is directed by Advait Chandan and it will hit theaters on February 7.
