Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, known for directing some of Salman Khan’s most iconic films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya‘, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’ and ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’, recently opened up about the superstar’s dedication to his craft.
In an interview with Tried and Refused Productions on YouTube, Barjatya shared insights into Salman’s unique approach to acting, highlighting his natural instinct and ability to connect with audiences.
Speaking about Salman’s working style, Barjatya praised his fearlessness in front of the camera. According to him, one of the actor’s biggest strengths is his willingness to embrace spontaneity without worrying about making mistakes. “He is not worried about making a fool of himself. He just lets himself go,” the director remarked, emphasizing how this trait adds to his natural appeal on screen.
The filmmaker further elaborated on Salman’s dedication, revealing that he puts significant effort into understanding his roles. When a script is narrated to him, he takes his time to observe and absorb the scene before stepping into it. Even on set, he prefers to watch from a distance, taking in the nuances before delivering his performance. This ability to connect with a character and the audience, Barjatya believes, is what gives Salman such strong mass appeal.
Salman and Barjatya’s collaborations have resulted in some of Bollywood’s most beloved films, known for their emotional depth and family-centric storytelling. Their association, which began with ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ in 1989, has remained one of the most successful actor-director partnerships in the industry.
