Stand-up comedian and chess streamer Samay Raina has once again found himself at the center of controversy, this time over his roast of influencer and actress Kusha Kapila. The roast, which aired on comedian Ashish Solanki’s YouTube channel which aired about 8 months ago. The episdoe sparked significant debate online, leading to speculation that Raina may have lost his management team in the aftermath.
Raina, known for his edgy humor and unfiltered takes, has often walked the fine line between comedy and controversy. However, his roast act appears to have had serious professional consequences. Reports suggest that his management team has distanced itself from him following the backlash over the roast. The exact reasons remain unclear, but it is likely that the team found the controversy too hot to handle, especially as online discourse surrounding the roast continues to gain momentum. Though the word around the street is that Samay wanted to go independent hence parted way with this management company.
This is not the first time Samay Raina has been in the eye of the storm. His comedy style, often laden with sharp digs and satirical jabs, has previously invited criticism. However, the response to the Kusha Kapila roast seems to have been particularly intense.
As of now, Raina has not publicly commented on parting ways wth management team nor has he commented on the the latest episode of his show India’s Got Latent where Ranveer Allahabadia made controversial comments leading to YouTube blocked the episode on government’s orders. Ranveer has though apologized for his comments but the controversy is unwilling to die.
Samay is currently in US for a series of shows, he recently held a show in San Jose.
