Actress Urvashi Rautela has become the latest celebrity to distance herself from YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia following the controversy surrounding his remarks on Samay Raina‘s show India’s Got Latent. Urvashi has now unfollowed him on social media. She has also canceled her upcoming appearance on Ranveer’s podcast.
According to News18, Urvashi was set to appear on Ranveer’s popular podcast, which has become a key platform for celebrity promotions.
Due to the backlash Ranveer faced over his controversial comment on India’s Got Latent, Urvashi has decided to cancel her podcast appearance.
Reports suggest that Urvashi has also unfollowed Ranveer on Instagram, though she has not issued an official statement on the matter. Recently, she starred alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna in Daaku Maharaaj, which performed well at the box office.
Ranveer, also known as BeerBiceps, made a controversial remark about sex and parents as a joke during an episode of India’s Got Latent. The episode featured Ashish Chanchlani, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and others.
He asked, “Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?” The comments did not sit well with viewers and social media users.
After facing backlash for his joke, Ranveer apologized for his remarks, calling it a “lack of judgment” on his part. “I don’t want to be the kind of person who takes that responsibility lightly. Family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect. I need to use this platform better.”
He addressed the controversy in a video he posted, apologizing for his remarks. Meanwhile, Samay Raina also broke his silence, revealing that he has deleted all India’s Got Latent episodes from YouTube. “My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly,” he wrote.
According to PTI, Mumbai police recorded statements from seven individuals, including Ashish Chanchlani, on Thursday. Meanwhile, ANI reported that Assam Police has issued fresh summons to Ashish, Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, Jaspreet Singh, and others following a complaint alleging they were promoting obscenity. A senior Assam Police official confirmed that a team has been sent to Mumbai for further investigations.
