Himesh Reshammiya’s ‘Badass Ravi Kumar’ released in theatres on February 7 and it clashed with Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan‘s ‘Loveyapa’. While the latter got mixed reviews and it even left few people surprised, that did not reflect in the collections. The Himesh Reshammiya movie still had an edge over ‘Loveyapa’. Both these films complete a week at the box office and from Friday onwards the collection will further see a dip with Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Chhaava’ hitting the screens.
‘Badass Ravi Kumar’ opened at Rs 2.75 Crore on its first day. After that, the movie started seeing a gradual drop in the business from Saturday onwards. On day 7, which is Thursday, it made only Rs 35 lakhs according to Sacnilk. Thus, the total collection of the film in 7 days, stands at Rs 8.20 crore.
Meanwhile, the total collection of ‘Loveyapa’ so far, is even lesser. The romantic comedy opened at Rs 1.15 crore. On Thursday, it made Rs 35 lakhs. Thus, the total collection of the film so far is Rs 6.5 crore.
These films are facing competition in the south with movies like ‘Thandel‘ and ‘Vidaamuyarchi’. Vicky’s ‘Chhava‘ is releasing worldwide today and it already has made Rs 10 crore in advance ticket sales. The film is expected to have a grand opening day number of around Rs 25 crore on Friday. Thus, the other movies may be expected to take a backseat if there’s good word of mouth and growth even during the weekend for it. ‘Chhaava’ also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna.
