Comedian Samay Raina has been at the center of controversy ever since YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks on his show India’s Got Latent went viral. Amid backlash and multiple FIRs, several celebrities have voiced their support for both Samay and Ranveer. Among them is rapper Badshah, who recently made headlines by backing Samay during a live concert.
Performing at Parul University in Vadodara, Gujarat, Badshah took a moment at the end of his show to shout, “Free Samay Raina,” sparking loud cheers from the crowd. A video of the moment has surfaced on social media, with a fan exclaiming, “Ain’t no way Badshah said ‘Free Samay Raina’ at the end of the concert! LFG!!!” while sharing the clip online.
For the unversed, Badshah had previously appeared as a guest on India’s Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina. The two have also collaborated on the music video Baawe, alongside rapper Raftaar.
Amid the controversy, Samay Raina recently issued a statement expressing his distress over the situation. He also confirmed that all episodes of India’s Got Latent had been removed from his channel.
“Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you,” he wrote on social media.
The row erupted after Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, made a controversial remark on India’s Got Latent. The influencer posed an inappropriate ‘Would You Rather’ question to a contestant, asking, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?”
The clip went viral, drawing widespread backlash. A police complaint was subsequently filed against Ranveer, Samay, and co-judges Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija for their participation in the episode.
