Sonakshi Sinha recently shared her struggles with body image issues while growing up, revealing how she felt conscious wearing swimwear and why she avoids swimming in India.
In an interview with Hauterrfly, Sonakshi admitted that she has always been wary of wearing swimwear, especially in public spaces. “I always felt conscious while wearing swimwear, especially while growing up. I don’t swim in Mumbai or in this country because I don’t know when someone will secretly take a picture and send it across. I don’t want it to be splashed all over the internet. I swim when I travel, I dive,” she shared. Her concerns highlight the persistent lack of privacy that celebrities face.
Discussing her recent wedding with Zaheer Iqbal, Sonakshi revealed that her parents initially wanted a grand celebration. “I always wanted a small wedding. I am a very private person, and for my special day, I wanted only those close to me. My mom expected me to call everyone because dad has so many political and film friends, but I told her that it was about me and Zaheer, and this is how we wanted it.” She further added that she and Zaheer planned their wedding in just two days, emphasizing her desire for an intimate celebration.
Sonakshi and Zaheer tied the knot in a civil ceremony on June 23, 2024. The couple had been dating for seven years before making their union official. Their wedding, held at Sonakshi’s Mumbai apartment, was followed by a grand reception attended by Bollywood’s biggest names, including Salman Khan, Kajol, Rekha, Vidya Balan, and Siddharth Roy Kapur. Rapper Honey Singh also performed at the star-studded celebration.
