Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s relationship has always been under constant scrutiny, with fans digging up and analysing every aspect of their marriage. Despite this, there have been moments when their bond stood above all speculation, proving their love and respect for each other. One such instance was when Abhishek openly expressed his gratitude towards Aishwarya for managing their home and raising their daughter, Aaradhya, while he pursued his film career. Apart from Aish, AB also reflected on the sacrifices his parents, Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan, made while raising him and his sister, Shweta Bachchan.
In a past interview with The Hindu, the ‘Guru’ actor remarked, “In my household, I’m lucky I get to go out and make movies but I know that Aishwarya is at home with Aaradhya and I thank her immensely for that but I don’t think the kids look at it that way. They don’t look at you as a third person, they look at you as the first person”. He also emphasised the extent to which parents would go for their children, stating, “You climb mountains on one leg if you have to for your child.”
He also reflected on how his mother (Jaya Bachchan) stepped away from acting to focus on her children, “My mother stopped acting when I was born because she wanted to spend time with the children. We never felt the void of dad not being around. I think at the end of the day after work, you come home at night.”
The ‘Ludo’ actor praised mothers and women for their contributions, saying, “What they do, nobody can.” He noted that fathers show love differently. “A father does it all but quietly because he doesn’t know how to express or demonstrate it. It’s a flaw that men have,” he explained.
Abhishek and Aishwarya, who married in April 2007, have been one of Bollywood’s most beloved couples. Their daughter, Aaradhya, was born in November 2011. Professionally, Abhishek was recently seen in the film ‘I Want to Talk’, while Aishwarya was last seen in ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2‘.
