Bollywood’s historical epic Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna and directed by Laxman Utekar continues its strong run at the box office, both domestically and overseas. The North American market remains a key driver of its global success, with the film now inching towards the $6 million mark. On its 19th day, Chhaava grossed $87,000 from 297 locations across the region, bringing its total earnings in North America to $5,917,000 ( Rs 51.51 crore)
With steady weekday collections and continued audience support, Chhaava is expected to surpass the $6 million milestone soon, making it one of the biggest Bollywood grossers in North America in recent months.
Meanwhile, the film’s performance in India remains exceptional. By the end of its 20th day, Chhaava has amassed an impressive Rs 477.5 crore, solidifying its position as one of the highest-grossing films of the year. With just Rs 22.5 crore left to cross the coveted ₹500 crore mark, the film is on track to become the first Bollywood film of 2025 to achieve this feat.
Adding to its momentum, Chhaava is set to expand its reach further with the release of its Telugu-dubbed version in India tomorrow. Given the film’s success in Hindi-speaking markets, the Telugu version has the potential to boost its overall box office numbers, especially in the South Indian states where historical dramas often find a strong audience.
Post Chhaava, Vicky is now busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War where he will be sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for the second time after Sanju and Raazi respectively. The actor underwent a major transformation for the love story as he had bulked up to 105 kg for Chhaava and he had to drop his weight down to 80-85 kgs for Bhansali’s next as he and Ranbir both are in the armed forces.
