Actor Emily Osment has filed for divorce from her husband of less than five months, musician Jack Anthony Farina.
The 32-year-old Osment filed the petition to end her marriage to the 42-year-old Farina in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.
The court filing says the two were married on Oct. 12 and separated Dec. 7. It cites irreconcilable differences as the reason. They have no children.
The couple were engaged for a year, before taking the plunge. The actress announced her engagement to her long-time beau in an Instagram post, and expressed her overwhelming happiness and love.
“This magical, beautiful, kaleidoscope of a person asked me to marry him this weekend,” Osment captioned her Sunday, June 25 Instagram post, adding, “I did not know life could be this sweet or I could ever be this deliriously happy. I am so proud of the life we have built together and the people we have become over the last few years. This love is so big and so uniquely ours, and I know it can do anything. I am so honored to stand next to you every day. I love you, Jack.”
The pair are believed to have gotten engaged at Yosemite National Park in California, as indicated by the location tag on Osment’s Instagram post. Jack proposed with a stunning radiant cut diamond and Montana sapphire ring.
It was the first marriage for Osment, the younger sister of “The Sixth Sense” actor Haley Joel Osment. She came to fame for playing Miley Cyrus‘s character’s best friend on the Disney Channel hit children’s musical show “Hannah Montana” which ran from 2006 to 2011.
She subsequently starred in sitcoms like “Young & Hungry” and “Young Sheldon,” and currently appears on the “Young Sheldon” spinoff, “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.”
The divorce was first reported by TMZ.
